Antique Quilt Show

July 12 and 13thand every weekend untiAugust 9th and 10th. Special events relating to the show will be July 12 and 13th as well as August 9th and 10th

Come to the Baldwin-Reynolds House to see quilts detailing our county's rich history, showcasing 24 quilts dated from 1840 to 1940. Other locally significant quilts from around Crawford County will be on display as well as quilt historians on site to answer questions. A boutique of quilting items and patterns for some of the quilts will be available. Judith Stoll has created a "Country Garden Nine Patch" quilt which will be raffled off. Laurie Wellington has designed a quilt pattern, including two sizes, which is a replica of a unique basket quilt made by Mary Jane Tryon Waid in 1850. The original will also be on display. Fourth Annual Rural Heritage Day

Stop by the B-R to step back into a bygone era that is all but forgotten. Agricultural, quilting, and other rural exhibits will fill the Baldwin-Reynolds House with live music, a bake sale featuring items from Katherine Reynolds' personal cookbook, and demonstrations on rural life and crafts. Beekeeping, The Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine Society, Spinning and Weaving, Chair Caning, Embroidery, Woodworking, Cheese making, and many more were featured at past events with these and more expected for 2008. Be sure to stop in our 1860s kitchen to visit our very own country farm wife and the Crawford County Pomona Grange. See you there! For more information, call Joshua Sherretts at 814-671-1030.
